CISA Conference 2014

General Information

Now more than ever, it is vital for international students and the education sector to find solutions to common problems and celebrate the experience that Australia can provide.

As CISA engages all stakeholders and represents over 500,000 international students, the CISA National Conference 2014 will give opportunity to debate, learn and discuss important parts of the student experience such as:

  • The place of student voice in a demand-driven system
  • How to increase social cohesion with the wider community?
  • Australian Government and sector for the future?
  • Good Practice Guide for Education Providers
  • The meaning of multiculturalism in Australia
  • Maintaining and enhancing the quality of student experience as priority to help build Australia’s reputation as a premium study destination

The CISA National Conference 2014 is about enchaining international student engagement with the community and celebrating their contribution to the Australian community. The conference program has been planned with a focus to not only provide the sector and students with important information but also give students a platform have their say on a range of different topics and their response to some of the pressing issues challenging the international student community in Australia.

‘Engage Locally, Connect Nationally’  has been selected as the theme of this conference to highlight the importance of strengthening local engagement and to encourage a ‘bottom-up’ approach in a demand-driven environment.

In this conference, we want to also equip international students and their representatives with the knowledge and skills to take on leadership roles within their communities, inspire them to make the most out of their time in Australia and provide stakeholders with an opportunity to directly engage with the students and student leaders.
